Desiree Gruber’s passion for storytelling, fueled by 25 years of experience in fashion, entertainment, and technology, lies at the core of her success. Understanding that storytelling is the most powerful way to launch ideas into the world, she has built an extraordinary career out of helping people and brands connect, educate, and inspire through compelling stories. She has also, in her own continuing story and via her multimedia company, Full Picture, set a unique example of female entrepreneurship at the intersection of lifestyle and commerce.

Gruber possesses an uncanny ability to connect the dots in unexpected ways, often seeing opportunity where others do not. Instrumental in building some of the world’s most prestigious brands and properties, from Victoria’s Secret and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to the launch of three hotels with Ian Schrager, and guiding the careers of high-profile personalities such as Heidi Klum and creating the hit television show Project Runway, she has a proven track record of developing and executing concepts that resonate with consumers and audiences and positively impact the bottom line.

Gruber established Full Picture in 1999, synergizing the traditionally separate fields of public relations, management, and television production—later, adding digital production—and has since guided Full Picture into a creative force and a full-fledged multimedia company. Gruber has also expanded Full Picture’s capabilities to include a Consulting division, providing guidance, strategy, and a creative spark to clients including AOL, Condé Nast Entertainment, and Google’s Made with Code.

Her expertise in marketing and branding campaigns, for which she has received over twenty awards, has positioned Gruber among the most respected figures within the media industry. Her experience in forecasting and developing trends, combined with a disciplined approach to the marketplace, has cemented her reputation as both an innovator and influencer. She was selected as one of Harper’s Bazaar-Dolce & Gabbana’s Women to Watch of 2014, one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs of 2010, and has received a Peabody Award and eleven Emmy nominations for executive producing Project Runway. Additionally, she is an advisor to Jawbone, Fashion GPS, Cognite, and popchips.

Gruber is also the co-Founder of Theodora & Callum, an accessories line inspired by world travel and sold in over 350 stores, including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. Celebrity fans include Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively, Halle Berry, Gwen Stefani, Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez, Megan Fox, and many more.

Gruber approaches her philanthropic endeavors with the same passion that fuels her businesses. She serves on the US Fund for UNICEF in New York and on the Board of Directors of God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that delivers nutritious, freshly prepared meals to people living with HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses. She has been awarded an official Mayor’s Proclamation by the City of New York for her professional and civic accomplishments and has been profiled in numerous publications, including O: The Oprah Magazine, Variety, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, New York Magazine, and Women’s Wear Daily.
